Got a new gun? Interested in one? Got one packed away and feel unsure about it?

SJF is hosting a pistol/handgun instruction weekend retreat for fathers and sons.

Intro

Catholics are pro-life. God created life, and He seems to prefer we leave that it in His hands. Cain learned that the hard way.

But, Catholics, in their effort to defend life, often find themselves in a violent world. Some are prudently armed and trained. Some would like to be.

St. Joseph’s Farm will be hosting a weekend to learn about being properly trained and properly armed. Our goal is life, not the glorification of armament. Prudence is the virtue that looks forward to potential threats to the good entrusted to them. For fathers this often means the ability to protect their family.

Some like to shoot guns for sport. Because shooting guns is fun.

Our Lord said to St. Peter as he wildly slashed at a guard’s ear that those who live by the sword die by it. He also said to him, “put [the sword] into its place” (Matt. 26:52). Learn how to do that with your weapon.

This weekend workshop is suited for all experience levels, but is particularly helpful to new gun owners and as ways to safely introduce your sons to pistol use.
